CAC!

The Chicago Artist Coalition - it gets the comunity involved in art. Gets the artists fed and knowledged up. It's a great this for everyone! Poking around the Chicago Artist Coalition website kinda makes you wanna jump on the band wagon and get a membership. It's simple - sign up and pay a fee. But why? Why should I get a membership Jenny? I'm poor. What do *I* get outta this? I'm glad you asked. You get tons of stuff! Discounts galore! At art shops (you can never have too many brushes), exhibits, frameing places, and art classes (you can *never* take enough classes). So check it out yo - http://chicagoartistscoalition.org/   It seems pretty awesome to this sad little artist who just stole food from her parents house so she could eat this week (yay mexican food! And strawberries!!! I LOVE strawberries.)

Still Chaos: Red Nose Studio

My keyboard keeps freezing. It is the single most annoying thing that can happen while trying to type. Besides the cat laying on it and that happens more than you’d think. Anyway, this post is about a cool little studio in a basement that is just as chaotic as mine!
Red Nose Studio is dedicated to the unique illustrations of Chris Sickels. The website itself is cool and the blog lends insight into the brain of the operation, along with concept sketches, which I always love seeing. Enough about the website – let’s talk art folks! It’s ridiculous. Wait, Jen don’t you mean ridiculously AWESOME?!?!?! Why yes. Yes I did- thank you slanty letters. The art is ridiculously awesome. I’ve never really seen anything like it. If I ever wrote a children’s book, I would pay anything to get this guy to do my illustrations. He builds charaters and settings and then takes a photograph of the scene. I was amazed when I went looking through the blog at all the neat things he can do with small found objects. I also rather enjoyed the interactive studio tour.
Anyways Red Nose Studio– it’s worth the click to check it out (and then spend the next hour looking at everything!)!
